Dwarf Land
Autonomous dwarf civilization simulator with AI-driven characters
Visit dwarf.land ↗What is Dwarf Land?
Dwarf Land is an interactive simulation where 300 AI-controlled dwarves inhabit a globe across 125 cities, each with unique D&D-style stats, mental states, and generated backstories. Dwarves autonomously eat, sleep, trade, sail ships, and craft items—starvation after 30 days without food causes death. The simulation uses a four-tier AI model routing system (Gemini Flash Lite → DeepSeek → Claude → GPT-4o) to manage character behavior asynchronously without blocking gameplay, with a hard budget cap of $8.50/hour.
Players can click dwarves to read their bios, pause the simulation, and sponsor individual dwarves with $1–10 to upgrade them from Gemini Flash Lite to Claude Opus for enhanced autonomy. The maker built it in one day using Claude Code, creating 7,600 lines of code in a single HTML file with no framework, Web Workers, and a Cloudflare Workers + D1 backend.
