Benzi
AI coding agent that compiles codebases into queryable maps
Visit benzi.fly.dev ↗What is Benzi?
Benzi is an AI coding agent built by Variant Technologies that takes a different approach to code understanding. Instead of dumping files into a context window, it compiles your entire codebase into a resolved map using tree-sitter, tracking calls, data flow, and references across ten languages. This allows it to answer questions and write code with precision, achieving 78.2% on SWE-bench Verified at just 9.5 cents per fix.
The agent supports Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, C, Go, Rust, and Ruby, plus markup languages. It performs static analysis checks on code writes and can trace bad values to their origin in a single tool call. The maker says it was built mostly with Claude Sonnet.
