assaio
Offline CLI to analyze AI coding costs and output across projects
Visit assaio.dev ↗What is assaio?
assaio is an open-source CLI tool that reads local logs from AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Copilot, Cline, and others to report estimated costs and code output by project. It works entirely offline, analyzing session data without uploading prompts, responses, or code. The tool provides per-project metrics including estimated API costs, lines of code produced, and effectiveness ratios, with each figure showing its data source and confidence level.
Designed for individual developers and teams, assaio helps answer questions about which projects deliver value from AI coding spend and where friction exists. It supports six different log sources, offers 21 different analytical reads, and includes features like subscription fit analysis, model usage breakdown, and context window health checks. The maker built it with Claude Code.
