AllocDB
A deterministic resource-allocation database for ticketing and inventory
Visit skel84.github.io ↗What is AllocDB?
AllocDB is a specialized database designed to handle resource allocation problems like ticketing and inventory management with guaranteed correctness. It eliminates common failure modes such as double allocations, ghost reservations, and race conditions that plague systems built on generic databases with ad-hoc locking and cleanup logic.
The system prioritizes determinism—the same input always produces identical results—and boundedness, with explicit limits on queues, tables, and retention windows. Built in Rust for allocation-free performance, AllocDB was created using Codex to guide the implementation, and has been validated against a 15-scenario Jepsen test matrix to ensure reliability under adversarial conditions.
